In a primetime address to the nation on Wednesday, April 1, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Iran no longer posed a threat to the country, a month after the U.S. and Israel launched major airstrikes against the country.

Trump added that all “core strategic objectives” were being met in Operation Epic Fury, though the conflict rapidly expanded in the Middle East, killing thousands and wounding hundreds more in Gulf countries.

Just hours later, Iran's commander-in-chief, Amir Hatami, said the country was monitoring "enemy movements with utmost pessimism and accuracy" and was ready for any future attacks. Iranian officials also criticized the Israeli and U.S. militaries in the conflict.
