Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday, April 14, that her country had suspended its "automatic defense agreement with Israel".

The agreement, originally signed in 2003 and ratified in 2005, renews automatically every five years. The latest cycle was set to expire on April 13, 2026.
