Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux spoke with CGTN about the mass shooting in the city that left eight children dead and injured two women.
The situation has been described as a domestic violence incident.
Police say on early Sunday, April 19, a man, identified as Shamar Elkins, shot and killed his seven children, ages 1 to 14-years-old, and his young cousin. The suspect's wife and a woman believed to be his girlfriend, were also shot and seriously injured. The suspect was killed by police after fleeing in a vehicle he had carjacked.
