Concerns rise over deaths in ICE custody

Dozens of migrants have died in ICE custody since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, marking 2025 as the deadliest year in U.S. immigration detention in more than two decades. 

Human rights groups also warn of a sharp rise in the use of solitary confinement, with some detainees held in isolation for days or even weeks. Many experts are now raising concerns about oversight and accountability.
