The Cuban tourism sector has witnessed sharp decline due to a combination of U.S. sanctions on Cuba, economic crisis, and ongoing structural problems. 

After peaking in 2017–2018 with over 4 million visitors, the sector has struggled following the COVID-19 pandemic and tighter U.S. measures.
