U.S. President Trump's image is becoming a fixture across several official U.S. items, all framed under the banner of America's 250th anniversary celebration. The State Department released images of a redesign of the U.S. passport that would feature a serious-looking Trump, drawn from his second inaugural portrait, superimposed over the Declaration of Independence on the inside cover, along with his signature in gold.
The State Department described the passports as featuring customized artwork for the bicentennial while maintaining the document's existing security features.
Meanwhile, the Treasury Department is preparing to produce both a $1 coin for general circulation as well as an "as large as possible" commemorative gold coin, each bearing Trump's likeness. The planned $1 coin would mark the first time in U.S. history that a sitting president's face has appeared alone on a coin.
The national parks pass has also gotten a Trump addition. Trump was added to the "America the Beautiful" annual national parks pass this year, appearing alongside George Washington on the $80 annual pass. The redesign has stirred controversy among parkgoers, with the National Park Service saying that passes could be voided if anyone placed stickers over the president's face or otherwise defaced his image.
