The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) record 75-day shutdown is coming to a close, as a greenlit funding bill is making its way to U.S. President Donald Trump’s desk to sign.

The Congressional-approved measure will reopen financing for the department, but excludes new funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Funding will continue for DHS agencies, including the Emergency Management Agency, the Coast Guard, the Secret Service, and the Transportation Security Administration. Administration.

U.S. Democrats spearheaded the shutdown, which began Feb. 14, demanding reforms to immigration enforcement practices.
