Big tech restructuring to meet AI growth demands

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has announced plans to cut about 10 percent of its global workforce, laying off roughly 8,000 employees and eliminating around 6,000 open positions. The move mirrors similar actions by tech giants including Microsoft and Oracle, as Big Tech redirects billions toward building artificial intelligence infrastructure and tools. The latest wave of cuts points to a profound shift in the labor market as computing demand grows with AI and the high costs of data centers if forcing companies to restructure.
