With just weeks to go before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Canada is preparing for more than just matches. Games will be held in Vancouver and Toronto, at BC Place and Toronto Stadium, drawing fans from around the world.

Vancouver will host a total of seven matches. Officials say the message is simple: Come for the games, stay for the experience. The two cities are easy to reach, with multiple daily direct flights taking about only five hours. Trains and road trips also offer a slower way to see the country.

On Canada's west coast, Vancouver mixes city life with nature. The stadium is ready, and the city is setting up fan zones and public spaces. Just outside the city, visitors can walk through rainforests, cycle along the seawall, or travel north to Squamish and Whistler for hiking and climbing.

On the east coast, Toronto's diversity, cultures, food and neighborhoods like Kensington Market draw many visitors. During the World Cup, it will host key matches while keeping its daily life open to visitors.

Canada as a whole is also is promoting travel across the country. In the west, Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains offer lakes, glaciers and wildlife. In northern areas like Churchill in Manitoba, visitors can see polar bears and, at times, Beluga whales. In the east, Niagara Falls and coastal towns show both natural beauty and history. Local food, Indigenous culture and daily life are also part of the experience. As the World Cup gets closer, Canada is using the event to show that there is much more to see beyond the stadiums.
