California officials are pushing back against the Trump administration’s rollback of federal electric vehicle incentives and clean transportation policies.
The state’s top air quality regulator recently praised Canada’s new trade agreement with China, which sharply lowers tariffs on a limited number of Chinese-made EVs entering Canada. This move could increase pressure on U.S. automakers and challenge Washington’s trade strategy.
At the same time, California is proposing $200 million in state incentives after the federal government ended the long-running EV tax credit.
