Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on the sidelines of the UN Security Council meeting. Wang called for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in the Middle East, stressing that the conflict should not have happened and must not continue.

Bahrain praised China’s mediation efforts and leadership in promoting multilateralism, expressing readiness to deepen bilateral ties and advance China-Gulf Cooperation Council relations under the framework of the Security Council.
