Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Indonesian counterpart Sugiono on the sidelines of a UN Security Council high-level meeting. The two sides agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation, advance maritime development, and jointly uphold peace and stability in the South China Sea.
Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership, pledging to create a favorable business environment for Chinese firms and expand cooperation in energy and mineral resources. Both sides also exchanged views on regional issues including the Middle East situation.
