The World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday, June 2, there is an 80% likelihood of a powerful El Niño event between June and August this year.
The WMO also said there is a 90% possibility the weather event could last through November. Climate scientists are calling it a Super-El Niño, meaning it could be very strong as Dan Collyns reports from the Peruvian capital Lima.
