Iran's World Cup star player, Mehdi Taremi, said: "That beautiful phenomenon— often talked about on FIFA regarding the peace, calm, and joy a win can bring to a country - simply doesn’t happen."

He made the comment in the run-up to Iran's opening game with New Zealand in Los Angeles, on June 15.
