After holding Belgium to a 0-0 draw, Iran coach Amir Ghalenoei said his team's unbeaten World Cup start will be remembered in football history.
The coach said conflict-related disruption, visa delays, travel restrictions, and cancelled friendlies left Iran arriving at the tournament in "the worst conditions possible." He added that considering the conditions, Team Melli's run at the start of the World Cup, "will be remembered as a great achievement in football history."
Despite that, Iran has taken two points from two matches; they remain unbeaten and in contention for a historic first-ever place in the World Cup knockout stage.
