The death toll in the twin earthquakes which rocked Venezuela earlier this week has risen to 1,430, with officials warning it could climb higher as rescue teams continued their search of collapsed buildings.
Jorge Rodriguez, president of the National Assembly, said Saturday that in addition to the deaths, at least 3,238 people had been injured.
