US policy to Venezuela shapes disaster relief

Six months ago, U.S. President Donald Trump caused global shockwaves with the forcible seizure of his former Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro.

The military operation was followed by a reset of what was previously an antagonistic relationship, with the Trump administration backing Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodriguez.

But the earthquakes that have hit Venezuela are now testing both countries, as CGTN's Owen Fairclough reports.
