Cuba is slowly restoring electricity after a nationwide grid collapse left much of the island, including Havana, without power. Residents endured extreme heat and prolonged outages as officials prioritized hospitals and essential services.
The blackout comes as Cuba continues to grapple with aging infrastructure, fuel shortages and the decades-long U.S. embargo, which Havana says has worsened the island's energy crisis.
