Heavy machinery rescued stranded pigs from floods in China’s Guangxi province, which displaced animals in zoos and on farms.

Typhoon Maysak made landfall on Friday, July 3, causing widespread transportation disruptions and school closures.

The rainfall forced 53,000 residents in Guangxi’s Hengzhou city to seek shelter in temporary facilities, according to a press conference held on July 7.

Rescue teams continue to search for stranded residents in the province, according to China’s national emergency officials.

As of July 7, six people were reported dead, and 11 missing, officials say.
