With his bare hands, a Venezuelan father searched through rubble to find his two missing daughters after the country’s devastating twin earthquakes on June 24.
Volunteers dug a narrow tunnel through the rubble to aid the father, Jefersson Caripe, in his search.
Caripe and his family live in Venezuela’s La Guaira state along the north coast, where he and his wife ran a beachfront business.
The magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 twin earthquakes killed 3,685 people and injured 16,740 people, according to National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez.
