Right-wing poltical commentator's comments draw backlash in India

A right-wing political commentator in India is under fire for remarks he made about women protesting.

TG Mohandas allegedly claimed in a YouTube video that women protestors "enjoy being raped" and said that, if he were in charge, he would order police to open fire on protesters who refused to disperse.

The cyber crime wing of Kerala's Police Dept. has registered a case against Mohandas after complaints that his remarks promoted violence and targeted protesters.

Student have been demanding accountability over an alleged medical exam leak and calling for action against those responsible.

Mohandas has defended his remarks, saying they were taken out of context.
