It takes months to plan a birthday party for a giant panda. From choosing a shark-themed celebration inspired by Bao Li’s signature “shark fin” to creating a custom cake with bamboo, carrots, apples, pears and pineapple juice, every detail is carefully planned by the giant panda keepers at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo.
