As the U.S. congressional midterm elections approach, voters are focused on issues including the economy, inflation, healthcare, immigration and the impact of President Donald Trump’s policies. Analysts say Democrats hope concerns over affordability and rising prices will help their campaigns, while Republicans are emphasizing immigration and border security. Other topics, including tariffs, the conflict with Iran and voting laws, are also expected to influence races. With months remaining before Election Day, the elections are widely seen as a referendum on President Trump’s second term. CGTN’s Jim Spellman reports from Washington.
