US military munitions are running low

U.S. military stockpiles have been seriously depleted by the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to new data from the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Patriot interceptor inventories have plunged from roughly 3,100 units to just 800 by the end of July 2026, with the Iran conflict identified as the main driver.

The shortages extend across critical systems, including HARM/AARGM anti-radar missiles and other missile systems, made worse by sustained operations against Houthi forces and heavy expenditure of long-range weapons like Tomahawks since 2024.
