U.S. and Mexican border agents carried out joint patrols along the El Paso–Ciudad Juárez border on August 13.

Helicopters, canine units, and armored vehicles were deployed to the border. The operation comes after Washington designated the Juárez Cartel a foreign terrorist organization, giving U.S. prosecutors expanded tools to target its members.
