Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are facing severe food insecurity, exacerbated by the recently reduced aid from the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP).

The U.S. is the WFP's biggest donor, but its contribution more than halved from 2024 to around $2 billion in 2025.

So far in 2026, it has contributed $936 million to the WFP.
