Cuba reopens schools despite severe economic crisis

More than 1.4 million students have returned to classrooms across Cuba for a new school year marked by severe shortages of fuel, electricity, water and teachers. 

Cuban officials blame the country’s deepening economic crisis in part on U.S. sanctions and restrictions.
