The trade war between the U.S. and Canada has escalated.

On Aug. 21, the U.S. placed 50% tariffs on close to $20 billion worth of goods from Canada.

In retaliation, Canada announced $27.6 billion in counter-tariffs on certain U.S. imports, starting Sept. 8.
