Despite walking away from demands from the U.S., Canadian Prime Minister Carney said Thursday, Sept. 3, that his government remained open to a deal that benefits both countries. The statement comes after U.S. President Donald Trump evoked new tariffs and talked down future trade negotiations with Canada this week.

Trump took to social media, saying: “It is very good for Canadian Politicians like Prime Minister Carney to make President Donald J. Trump “the enemy,” until their Economy collapses, then it will prove to be very bad for Politics.”
