Chinese battery technology is playing a growing role in Mexico’s renewable energy expansion as new solar and wind projects are required to include energy storage. 

Chinese companies showcased storage systems and battery technologies at a major renewable energy expo in Mexico City. 

But industry representatives warn that Mexico’s tariffs on Chinese imports could raise costs and slow deployment as the government considers additional trade restrictions.
