The United States is increasingly deporting migrants to countries other than their own, including Mexican nationals sent to Central America. Deportees describe being transported far from home and facing difficulties returning, while human rights organizations have raised concerns about safety and access to asylum protections.

Some Latin American migrants have also been transferred to countries in Africa. Mexico has objected to the practice as the Trump administration expands agreements with countries willing to receive deportees.
