In a harrowing moment caught live, an Israeli strike hit near a TV journalist in Lebanon as he prepared to go live on Sunday, Sept. 6.
Al-Manar TV reporter Ali Shbib and his cameraman Mohammed Barjawi were reporting from Nabatieh, Lebanon, when the strike happened.
Both sustained cuts and bruises from flying debris in the strike and were taken to Sheikh Ragheb Harb Hospital for treatment. Al Shbib underwent surgery to remove shrapnel from his shoulder.
Israel's military said in a statement, "the IDF is aware of reports that a journalist in the vicinity of the terrorist infrastructure was harmed during the strike. The IDF does not target uninvolved individuals or journalists under any circumstances."
