The U.S.-initiated trade war against China and most other global trading partners has eased since President Donald Trump imposed his so-called "liberation day" tariffs back in April 2025. In fact, Chinese imports to the US have been rising recently. August marked a fifth straight month the U.S. logged increased shipments from China. But tensions remain, especially over key technology industries.
