The U.S.-initiated trade war against China and most other global trading partners has eased since President Donald Trump imposed his so-called "liberation day" tariffs back in April 2025. 

Chinese imports to the U.S. have actually been rising recently. August marked the fifth straight month the U.S. logged increased shipments from China. But tensions remain, especially over key technology industries.
