As Chinese President Xi Jinping travels to the United States for a state visit with US President Trump, China is calling for strategic stability with the US. A cooling of tensions between the two global powers has been evident in the last few months, especially after the US president’s visit to Beijing in May.

But there are many issues which the two powers need to manage.
