Zoo Atlanta has received the pair of giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, who landed on a FedEx plane from southwest China’s Sichuan province early Sunday morning, Sept. 27.

The pair is set for a 10-year stay in the United States, intended to further boost international cooperation on giant panda protection.

The announcement was made by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his opening remarks at the White House in Washington, D.C. this week.
