Wartime diesel prices squeeze US farmers

Diesel prices in the U.S. have reached record highs, causing farmers like 84-year-old Craig Underwood in California to expect they won’t break even this year, as their total costs for diesel have risen 40% since this time last year.

G7 leaders from some of the wealthiest countries in the world agreed on Friday, Oct. 2, to release diesel from their reserves to help remedy the growing crisis, fueled largely by the U.S. war in Iran.
