A 42-year-old man died after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday, Oct. 12. Police identified the victim as Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem and said he struck other riders before falling beneath the attraction. According to witnesses, his son was seated beside him when the accident occurred, while his wife and daughter were elsewhere in the park.

Following the incident, Six Flags temporarily closed nine similar roller coasters across six parks in the U.S. and Canada as a precaution. Authorities are investigating what caused the deadly accident.
