China’s Zheng Qinwen made history on home soil, becoming the first Chinese player to win the China Open after defeating Russia’s Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 in Beijing on October 11.

The Olympic champion, who battled an elbow injury that sidelined her for much of the past year, saved three set points before securing her first WTA 1000 title with a championship-point ace. The victory marks her first trophy of 2026 and a major milestone in her comeback.
