After 491 days at a frontline position largely alone, Ukrainian soldier Kostiantyn Vlasenko was evacuated by an aerial drone on Oct. 4. The 49-year-old, who lost both legs, survived in a tiny boiler room and said fellow soldiers died trying to reach him.
Footage released by Ukraine’s 92nd Assault Brigade shows the evacuation, reportedly in the Kharkiv region.
