Chinese President Xi Jinping speaks on the first day of the 13th G20 Summit held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Friday.
He said the G20 members should adhere to the spirit of openness to safeguard the multilateral trade system, working together to enhance macro-policy coordination. He also urged members to encourage innovations to promote the deep integration of the digital economy and real economy. China pursues mutually-beneficial, and win-win development to promote global, inclusive development, Xi said.
President Xi said China will continue to deepen its market-oriented reforms, protect property rights and intellectual property rights, encourage fair competition, and actively expand imports. China will hold the International Import Expo every year to further open the Chinese market to the world. He said China hopes that all countries will jointly create a free, open, inclusive and orderly international economic environment.
President of Argentina Mauricio Macri is hosting the summit. The theme this year is “Building consensus for equitable and sustainable development.”
